At our core, we are storytellers. These stores give us an opportunity to bring mo‘olelo (stories) to life. Every design choice is rich with meaning, intended to be discovered, experienced and shared.
Our storefront palette re!ects the natural colors of the coconut palm with soft greens, sandy browns, and warm neutrals inspired by the coast. The wood slat design is representative of the palm frond and the shadows that they produce. Additionally, there is a sunrise-inspired wallcovering in the windows to represent the Atlantic Ocean.
This store celebrates multigenerational growth, honoring the people, land, and communities that came before us. The humble coconut symbolizes life, renewal, and the act of creation that sustains generations. At its heart, the theme of multigeneration is about legacy, drawing from the ways each generation builds upon the last to nurture the land, community, and spirit of growth.
Handcrafted "nishes echo the textures of the palm. Coral !oors root the design in coastal soil, while the dimensional wood tile recalls the texture of the trunk of a palm. Handmade white tiles mimic the surface of the coconut, and colors in the store shift from green to yellow to brown, tracing the life of the fruit.
Custom millwork and wall cladding are made from local hardwoods while original Hawaiian and local artwork accents the space.
We used arches to highlight and break up a long narrow space, a nod to the famous West Palm architect Addison Mizner. We also utilized a high wainscot to complement the height of the space and to provide a clean texture that echoes the spanish revival style of West Palm.
Florida’s Devin Noel created a custom coconut palm mural with a repeating pattern and enlarged palm motif, while Hawai‘i-based artist Vidaloh designed a handwoven textile artwork situated behind the cashwrap.
