How Spikeless Golf Shoes Should Fit
A proper golf shoe secures the heel for rotational stability during the swing while leaving about half an inch, or a thumb's width, ahead of the longest toe. The widest part of your foot should align with the outsole flex point. When laced snugly, the top eyelets across the tongue should sit roughly a thumb's width apart. An excessive gap signals a fit that is too narrow, while eyelets that touch mean the shoe has too much volume for your foot.
